Android 7.0 Nougat Update for Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S7

Google releases Android 7.0 Nougat in various devices. But it is not clear whether the OS will land on the Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, and Galaxy Note 5.

Samsung smartphone owners are very happy and excited to the news about the OS update. However, not all smartphones the run on Androids will have the update. Fortunately, Samsung Company confirms that their devices will make sure to have an update on the Android 7. Nougat.

The Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will reportedly be first in line to the Android Nougat update as soon as possible.

Samsung is rumored to be pushing Android 7.0 Nougat into the S7, S7 Edge, S6 and Note 5 in the fourth quarter of 2016. Hence, those who own the devices might see an "update notification" by the end of the year, according to HNGN.

T-Mobile's confirmed Nougat updates for the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. All of these updates are currently in the "Manufacturer Development" which means they still have a long way to go before they are released to the public.

Android 7.1 Nougat

In the Nougat announcement made last August, Google noted that it is "already started work on the first Nougat maintenance release. Google Company also told all the Android users that it would definitely bring "continued refinements and polish" and that would release a beta ahead of the official release.

Google’s update is Android 7.1 Nougat and it’s now available as a beta for some smartphones. Some Nexus devices are mostly ahead of its public release in December.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything yet but there’s a chance Android 7.1, or another version of the Nougat update, will roll out to Samsung’s stable of Galaxy smartphones and tablets down the road
